Is it for you?

If your beard never quite fills in

  • Thin, patchy beard on the cheeks and chin, a case for a beard transplant

    Thin beard

It grows, but sparse: your skin shows through even when you let it grow.

  • Beard with bald patches on the cheeks

Gaps on your cheeks or chin

Spots where nothing grows, which you try to hide with the cut or the length.

  • Mustache and goatee that don’t connect at the sides of the mouth

Mustache and goatee that don’t connect

Or sideburns that never quite connect with the beard.

  • A scar on the cheek where the beard doesn’t grow

A scar where no hair grows

Each case is assessed at the consultation.

Beard transplant design: a gloved hand marks the beard outline on a patient’s cheek with a surgical pen

The design

A natural beard is all in the direction of the hair

  • Designed around your face

Before we start, we mark the outline with you: how high it goes on your cheeks, how it closes at the chin and where it joins the mustache. You give the final OK before a single hair is placed.

  • Hair by hair

Your own follicles, extracted one by one with the FUE technique and placed one at a time.

  • In the direction your beard grows

Each hair is placed at a low angle, following the direction of the hair you already have, so it blends with your beard and no one can tell where the transplant begins.

Before you decide

Transplant, minoxidil or micropigmentation: they’re not the same

Differences between a beard transplant, minoxidil and micropigmentation
Beard transplant Minoxidil Micropigmentation
What it is Your own hair, which grows A product you apply every day Pigment in the skin that mimics a few days’ stubble
How long it lasts Permanent As long as you use it; if you stop, you can lose what you gained Fades over time and needs touch-ups
How it looks Real hair you can grow out Varies a lot from person to person Only works with a very short beard
Maintenance Trim or shave it like any beard Daily application Regular touch-ups

Already using minoxidil? Tell us at your consultation. And if another option makes more sense for you, we’ll tell you.

Your timeline

Here’s what will happen, month by month

  1. Illustration of the skin in the first days after a beard transplant: small scabs at each follicle

    First few days

    Recovery

Small scabs and some redness around each hair. Don’t get the area wet until the medical team says so.

  2. Illustration of the beard once you can shave again: short, spaced-out hairs

    Around day 10

    You can shave again

The scabs have come off and you can shave or trim again, following the instructions.

  3. Illustration of the transplanted beard hair shedding: only a few hairs remain

    Weeks 2-8

    The transplanted hair falls out

It’s scary, but it’s part of the process. The follicle is still there.

  4. Illustration of the beard as new, still-fine hair starts to grow

    Months 3-5

    It starts to grow

New hair appears, fine at first.

  5. Illustration of a dense beard once growth is complete after the transplant

    Months 6-12

    It fills in

The beard fills in and blends with your own. The final result is assessed at around one year.

Straight answers

The questions people actually ask us

Am I a candidate?

It depends on why your beard doesn’t grow, the quality of your donor area and what you want to achieve. No one can honestly answer that online: the medical team decides at your assessment.

Where does the hair come from?

From your donor area, usually the back of your head. It’s extracted follicle by follicle with the FUE technique, with no linear incision.

Will it look transplanted?

Once it has grown in, it shouldn’t. Each hair is placed following the direction of your beard, and the outline is designed around your face.

Is it noticeable the first few days?

Yes, for a few days: small scabs and some redness in the treated area. If you have an event or important meetings coming up, let us know and we’ll pick the date with you.

Does it hurt?

We use local anesthesia. What you’ll mostly feel is the first round of injections, like small pinpricks. After that the area is numb and the procedure is easy to tolerate.

When can I shave?

Around day 10, when the medical team says so. From then on, you trim or shave it like any beard.

When can I go back to work?

It depends on your job and how you feel. We’ll go over it at your consultation and give you written instructions.

When will I see the result?

Growth is gradual. New hair starts to appear between the third and fifth month, and the beard keeps gaining density until about the one-year mark.

Is it permanent?

The hair is taken from areas that resist hair loss, so once it settles in, it keeps growing.

Will there be scars?

With the FUE technique, follicles are extracted one at a time, with no linear incision. The micro-incisions are minimal.

I use minoxidil. Can I still get it done?

Tell us at your consultation and we’ll explain what to do with it before and after the procedure.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, a 1-year guarantee. After a year you see your full result: if the design didn’t turn out right or you don’t have the density we agreed on, the guarantee covers a touch-up. We explain its terms at your consultation, before you decide anything.

What are the risks?

Like any surgical procedure, it has some. You may have swelling, redness, itching, minor bleeding, folliculitis or temporary hair shedding. Serious complications, such as infection or abnormal scarring, are rare. Before surgery you’ll have a medical evaluation, and we’ll explain the steps to reduce those risks.

I’m coming from out of town. Can I add the travel package to the offer?

No. The international patient package also applies to beard transplants, but it can’t be combined with the year-end offer price.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes. We work with CareCredit: 12 months interest-free, subject to approval. With the offer, that’s $250 a month.
